Wanderer Songs - Ao Vivo no Teatro Faialense (CD)

An invocation of José Afonso in the 21st century, artist collective Wanderer Songs assembled in April 2024, celebrating the 50th anniversary of Portugal's Carnation Revolution by revisiting the songs of the late humanist thinker, singer and activist José Afonso.

The residency in the island of Faial, Azores, was organized by Pedro Afonso (son) leading to the debut performance at Faial followed by Wanderer Songs' first international appearance in July at Rudolstadt Festival. The collective included musical director Tiago Correia-Paulo, Selma Uamusse, Lavoisier, PS Lucas, Nacho Vegas (on the premiere concert) along with the rhythm section made up of Augusto Macedo and Diogo Sousa. Nástio Mosquito and Vic Pereiró were the dynamic duo in charge of the audiovisuals.
